How you can support our work

Christ Church with St Mary's is a thriving Christian community, living and working in the Swindon area in the West of England.

Our Church is nearly 160 years old and has stood as a beacon on the hill through many changes from sleepy market town to thriving Railway centre and more lately to buzzing commercial and economic growth.

Through all this time, Christ Church has been sustained by it's faithful friends, both within the church family and outside it. We raise money, not only to support work in our own community but also to [support a number of overseas charities]

We continually strive to balance mission giving with maintaining the church itself and seek support and financial assistance where ever it is forthcoming.

It cost £8,000 to build the new Christ Church in 1851 - it was built by  subscriptions from hundreds of ordinary people as a gesture of great faith.

Despite careful cost reduction programmes, every week it costs us about £4,400 to maintain and run the work of the church. You can see the sort of things we do here. Most of our income comes from our own congregation and our friends. Sadly though we are continuing to fall substantially short of this sum and have launched a stewardship initiative to close the gap between our income and our costs.

Bless you and thank you.
